The Lackawanna County Courthouse is a three-and-one-half-story masonry building measuring approximately 100 by 140 feet that includes a five-story clock tower and is located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. In 1902, President Theodore Roosvelt appointed a Strike Commission at the Courthouse to help end the Anthracite Coal Strike. The testimony of labor leader John Mitchell, President of the United Mine Workers of America, helped end the strike non-violently and a statue of Mitchell now dots the historic property's grounds.
